wow. what a trip i must say. way too short though. the capital of the Philippines and at the same time one of the biggest urban areas in Asia is by far one of the most exiting places I have been to. somehow it seems to be a bit like you imagine a place in south America, lets say Colombia. Never have I seen such strong differences between rich and poor in one place (and we have not seen the slums yet) – the top 10% of the population seem to live in secluded pockets and barely get in touch with the rest of the city, people are maybe the friendliest I have ever met in Asia and at the same time it is supposed to be one of the most crime ridden places in the region. some areas like the city of makati seem to be ultra modern whereas in other parts of the city the people sleep in parks or on the street and there are churches like in Europe, hundreds of years old.

as mentioned above, our stay was way to short to even barely understand how all this pieces fit together, but i somehow love it already… for sure i will come back there…
